Like the New York Times’ Ethicist column, in which an expert offers practical wisdom in response to readers’ quandaries, this series will respond to real-life ethical dilemmas. In keeping with a Reconstructionist approach, Rabbi Wasserman does not offer simple answers, but invites participants into a process of values-based decision making. Each session will feature one or two ethical dilemmas, either submitted by participants, or captured from the newspaper. We will examine relevant teachings from the Jewish ethical tradition, and discuss how values shape our decision-making.
