Reset: Building Resilience Through Spiritual Practice and Growth
When we renew our spirits, we renew our commitment to fighting for liberation and justice.
Reset 2020 offers Jewish activists a chance to replenish their spirits and engage with spiritually rich, accessible online content suited for people across Jewish tradition and backgrounds.
What We Offer
Immersions
We provide multi-session online workshops, called “Immersions,” to develop spiritual knowledge in a collective learning environment, and learn how to bring this knowledge into our lives and communities. In collaboration with Ritualwell, our Immersions are donation-based and taught by experts in Jewish resilience, movement practice, meditation, art, and more.
Our upcoming workshops include:
- Embodied Jewish Practice for Self-Care and Wellness taught by Yoshi Silverstein, founder of the Mitsui Collective
- Renewing Our Communities and Ourselves: An Elul Workshop Series with Rabbi Shmuly Yanklowitz, Rabbi Micah Weiss, Rabbi Emily Cohen, and Rabbah Dorothy Richman
- Art for Activists: Using Creativity to Experience Rest and to Renew Energy taught by Rabbi Bec Richman
- Lighting the Path Within: Jewish Mysticism and Meditation, taught by Hadar Cohen
- Strengthening Anti-Oppression through Spiritual and Embodied Practice, taught by Kohenet Keshira haLev Fife
Harvesting Resilience: 30 Days of Spiritual Practice Before the Election
From October 4th through November 3rd, 2020, we drew from a spiritual library filled with short, accessible practices from rabbis, leaders, artists and activists across the country to offer five-minute daily practices via text and email. Our homepage can be found here.
Writing for Joy and Resilience: A Spiritual Writing Practice Series
Over the course of March 2021, we engaged with the joy of creative expression and built resilience through deepening our relationship with ourselves through Jewish practice and text. Every Friday, we provided the option of joining an hour-long community gathering to share writing from the week and do a writing exercise together. You can find our homepage here.

Leadership

Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and Reconstructing Judaism are leaders in transforming Jewish life and sharing a progressive vision to work toward a just and more sustainable world. We bring multidisciplinary tools to build healthy and healing Jewish communities to campuses, homes, neighborhoods and synagogues; we live our values through political and community organizing; and we offer responses to personal and communal crises. Through Reset, we gather Jewish wisdom of resilience and find creative ways to bring our traditions forward into today’s complex world.
