  2. Book Club 10/20/17 First Session

I think there’s an appetite to know. I think there’s an incredible hunger to understand…We have to embrace ignorance because it is a permanent state in Jewish learning. You will never master it. But instead of feeling frustrated, we can feel energized by that.

  4. Rev Your Engines 11/9/17

  9. The Aviv Loan Fund Helps Synagogues and Havurot Spring Into Growth

Several years ago, Kadima Reconstructionist Community in Seattle had fewer than 30 member households. Today, the 37-year-old community with a focus on social justice boasts more than 200 adult members, including millennials and young families.

  10. In Tragedy’s Wake, Dor Hadash Finds Strength in Jewish Community

At Congregation Dor Hadash, life certainly hasn’t returned to normal. Perhaps, considering the full scope of the trauma endured and the losses suffered, “normal” isn’t possible or even desirable. Yet in the two months since a gunman claimed the life of one member, Dr. Jerry Rabinowitz, and critically wounded another, Dan Leger, the community has settled into something approaching a “new normal,” according to Judith Yanowitz, Dor Hadash’s vice president for ritual.
