  3. Co-signed Hazon letter on withdrawal from Paris climate accord

To leaders within the American Jewish Community:

    Dear Friends,

We are Jews, organizational leaders and rabbis, teachers and students who work passionately towards a bright American Jewish future.

We are also human beings who care deeply about all life.

And from this integrated Jewish and universal perspective, we are shocked by our President’s decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord.

  4. Camp JRF Name Change Release

    Dear Friends,

    Today’s the day!

As you know, we’ve been talking for years about changing the name of Camp JRF. Now that our namesake no longer exists as an umbrella organization (as it did when we opened), with a second camp on the horizon, and with excitement that the Reconstructionist movement is currently undertaking a similar process, the time has finally come.

And so, without any further ado, we’re excited to share with you our new name, logo, and tagline:

  5. Statement on June 14 Shooting

We are deeply shocked by the shooting that targeted members of Congress and others, and we’re praying for a complete and swift recovery for those injured. Based on reports, were it not for the work of Capitol Police officers, the casualties could have been far more numerous and we applaud the actions of all who saved lives. Though the motivations of the shooter are not yet known, this violent act represents a further breakdown in our political culture. Those who seek office in service of their country should not have to fear for their lives. No one should.

  8. Kotel release Feb 2016

The Reconstructionist movement is overjoyed that on Jan 31, 2016, the Israeli cabinet voted to dramatically expand the space for egalitarian prayer at the Kotel. This is a blessed and welcome decision. The Western Wall in Jerusalem’s Old City is a central and highly symbolic Jewish space. For many Jews, this is an historic moment, because an egalitarian community of men and women is essential to their religious obligations, needs and desires.

  10. Statement on May 2017 Terrorist Attacks

RRC/Jewish Reconstructionist Communities and the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association are shocked and aggrieved by today’s terrorist attack on a bus carrying a group of Egyptian Coptic Christians to visit the Monastery of St. Samuel the Confessor in Minya province, south of Cairo. Masked gunmen killed at least 28 worshipers, including children, and wounded at least 20 more people. As of this moment no group has claimed responsibility, but this attack follows a series of recent attacks on the Coptic Christian community in Egypt.
