Building the Jewish Future
My rabbinical career has been anything but planned. I would be a career counselor’s worst nightmare: the conventional ladder of professional advancement has never suited me. Instead, I’ve tried to think boldly about what the Jewish community needs, and have done my best to build institutions that could address those needs.

Aviv Revolving Loan Fund
What are Aviv loans and who can apply?
The Aviv Revolving Loan Fund supports growth and vitality in the Reconstructionist movement. Aviv means “spring” in Hebrew, and this fund was established through the generosity of anonymous donors to promote fresh, energizing initiatives. Congregations and havurot affiliated with Reconstructing Judaism at any level—Enter, Engage or Invest—can apply for these no-interest loans of up to $20,000.

Ritualwell’s ADVOT Creates Poetic Community
This article was originally published in the Jewish Exponent by Sasha Rogelberg.
Before Ritualwell was a website containing more than 2,200 liturgy and rituals crowdsourced by Jews, it was an idea of where to put dozens of scraps of paper in the drawers of offices in the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and Kolot: Center for Jewish Women’s and Gender Studies in Wyncote.

Congregational Safety Resources
In the months since the October 2018 Pittsburgh synagogue attack, we have been sharing resources with Reconstructionist communities that address questions of how to make our synagogues safer while also upholding Jewish values of racial justice, interfaith community building, and equity. This page gathers together what we’ve shared so far with our educators, executive directors and presidents.
