Statement on 10/9/16 Terrorist Attack
We at RRC/Jewish Reconstructionist Communities are grieving the murders of Levana Malichi, z'l, and Yosef Kirma, z'l, killed yesterday in a terrorist attack in Jerusalem. Levana was an Israeli civilian, and Yosef was a police officer killed in the line of duty.

Condemning UNESCO's Temple Mount Resolution
RRC/Jewish Reconstructionist Communities condemns today’s United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Jerusalem resolution that functionally erases the historical presence of Judaism on the Temple Mount. The resolution ignores the existence of ancient Israel’s connection to the Temple Mount, and Israeli leaders on the left and right have objected to it strongly. We appreciate the U.S.’s vote against the resolution, which a White House spokesperson called “one-sided,” “unhelpful,” and “highly politicized.”

DT Naso Toba Spitzer
(Originally published in Torah Queeries: Weekly Commentaries on the Hebrew Bible)
A number of years ago, Pride Weekend in Boston fell on the Shabbat of Parshat Naso. Preparing my d’var Torah for Shabbat morning services that week, I wondered, what might this portion have to teach about GLBT pride?

Multifaith - Twelve Things I Learned
Like many Americans, before 2001 I knew only a very few things about Islam and Muslims. Unfortunately, most of what I “knew” was not correct. While I still have much to learn, at least I now know a bit more than I did. Here are just 10 things that surprised me when I first learned them. Since I am not an authority, you should not take my word for any of this. I have included links for each item. Please follow up for yourself.
