Two consecutive stories in the Book of Exodus confront us with a crucial paradox about how it is or isn’t possible to encounter the Divine, leaving us as readers with something like an “impossible” mental picture that we may be tempted to try to resolve or to hold as a fruitful paradox.

Joint Filing Opposing Anti-LGBTQ Religious Exemptions in Supreme Court Case
The Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association and many Reconstructionist leaders were among 1,300 clergy and faith leaders representing half a million congregants from approximately 50 unique faith traditions across the U.S. who joined together to send a clear message that businesses open to the public must serve all. The clergy filed a friend-of-the-court brief to the Supreme Court in the Masterpiece Cakeshop vs.

Letter in Support of OFF (Off Fossil Fuels) Act
The Reconstructionist Rabbinical College/Jewish Reconstructionist Communities and the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association are signatories to a letter by Food & Water Watch urging members of Congress to co-sponsor HR3671, the OFF (Off Fossil Fuels for a Better Future) Act. The bill would place a moratorium on new fossil fuel projects, and move our electricity and most transportation systems to 100% renewable energy by 2035. It would also funding for jobs and economic development for those working in the fossil fuel industry.
