Submitting Original Music for High Holidays 2020/5781
Thank you for your interest in sharing your music for the High Holidays this year. Here’s the information you’ll need to submit:
- The Submit High Holiday Music link below is where to submit your work.
- We’re looking for original compositions that you’ve created, whose copyright belongs to you or to someone who has authorized you to submit the work here.
- Submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis, and will close August 31, 2020.
- We’re unable to accept audio or video files directly. Instead, please upload your creation either to SoundCloud (audio) or Vimeo (video), and set up permissions that let us embed the player in our site. Details on how to do that are below.
- If your composition contains original lyrics, please submit them in type written format in the Submisson Link.
- If your text is traditional liturgy from the Mahzor or elsewhere, it would be very helpful if you could provide a citation in the Submission Link.
- If you submit video, we encourage you to caption the video - see Vimeo Captions, below, for how to do this.
Thank you! We look forward to sharing your creativity with the world.

Vimeo Captions
There is information on creating closed captions for your video here: https://vimeo.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/224968828-Captions-and-subtitles
It’s also possible for your video producer to “burn” (permanently embed) captions into the video file before uploading it to Vimeo. The disadvantage of “burned” captions is they become an integral part of the video, and can’t be turned off.
